The Tool Library

This Tool Library has been established to enable people in the community to loan tools to assist them build, repair and create. The Tool Library will have a range of tools from mowers to drills and most things in between. To loan a tool you just need to become a member of the library for a small annual fee.

As we build the Tool Library we would love to have your feedback on what tools are most important to you.

Pickup is Tuesday to Friday between 10am and 2pm

Clarendon Vale Neighbourhood Centre – 65 Mockridge Rd, Clarendon Vale

Tools need to be returned no later than the following Monday by 2pm.

Lost or damaged tools

Members are responsible for tools loaned out in their name. This means if a tool is lost or damaged, the member may incur the cost of repair or replacement. We do our best to repair tools free of charge, but replacement parts may incur a fee.

Replacement fees vary and are based on the cost of purchasing a new tool or parts.
Please take care of our tools. They belong to all of us.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about our tool library.

It is a place where community can come and loans tools out for tasks around the home if they do not have the money to buy their own.

To loan a tool is it is FREE, but first you must become a MEMBER. There is a yearly membership fee with a concession card holder starting at just $25 per year.

Anyone from the local community can loan a tool. Tool Library members must be 18 years old and above.

We will have power tools like drills and circular saws, plus hand tools and garden tools like hedge trimmers and mowers.

We have state of the art battery powered mowers and line trimmers from Ryobi. No need to carry dangerous petrol around!

We have a crew of fantastic people who will also show you how a tool works and make sure you have the best tool for the job.

Yes! We will have these things to help you get your jobs done. For these items there may be a small charge.

Will there be classes on how to use tools?2022-06-28T15:29:32+10:00

Yes these classes will be held as part of Mission Australia Housing, Home Handy Workshop classes. Keep an eye out at the Clarendon Vale Neighbourhood Centre for details. There has already been workshops on how to repair holes in walls through to how to paint.

When and where do I pick the tools up from?2022-10-18T11:08:58+11:00

You can pick up your tools Tuesday through to Friday between 10am and 2pm at the Clarendon Vale Neighbourhood Centre – 65 Mockridge Rd Clarendon Vale and drop back your tools no later than the following Monday between 10am and 2pm
